And the beat goes on...

My summer travel has been done for a week, and when I stand back a distance and rest, I realized how crazy it actually was. Here are some of the things I won’t miss:
-Weekly 10 hour (give or take) drives
-CIY set up and tear down (often we were up till 2 in the morning tearing down, only to get up at 8 the next morning and drive)
-Saying goodbye every Friday
-The train that went by outside the window at 4 in the morning. It happened to be at 5 of the 8 conferences.
-People (a.k.a. the band) stealing our Johnson Bible College sign, our candy, and everything else at our booth.

But in the end, those things are small. Here are some lessons that hit me OVER and OVER again throughout the summer…
**Just be there. So often we feel we need to have an agenda or plan, when just being with someone, and listening to them, is all they needed in the first place.
**Usually the Holy Spirit is what moves you to do things that are uncomfortable. Things that aren’t convenient and don’t really make sense at the time. The Holy Spirit steps in when our fears and our faith collide. Our choice is whether or not we will let the fear take over.
**I have a really good friend named Julie Kaye Harris.
**”At the cross you
Beckon me you
Draw me gently
To my knees and I am
Lost for words so
Lost in love and I am
Sweetly broken
Wholly surrendered”
**Some of the wisest and most comforting words you can tell people are “I get what you’re going through…I understand” and “I don’t have it all figured out either. But I believe it’s worth the journey.” Oh yea...a lot of girls need to be reminded that they are beautiful. A lot of them have never heard that before.
**The question from the summer that challenges me the most: “Is following Jesus enough for you?” That’s it. If I never baptize a single person or get any recognition- Is following Jesus enough? If I never get married or get a promotion or have enough money- Was following Jesus enough for you? Jesus simply asked us to be faithful. . I got that question from this video that was shown during the week:

This is probably the laziest post you've ever read....but Mike Baker (the Sr. pastor from my church at home) wrote and awesome post on his blog about the upcoming elections. So you should scroll down a little bit and click on his name on the right hand side of the screen to read it. It's called "I'm voting for..." .

thats it. lol.
